5k Rec Run and Community Yard Sale

Fall is here, which means... it's time for our 2nd Annual 5k Rec Run and Walk, which will be held on 9/13!!!
This year we are lucky enough to be able to incorporate the beautiful new Recreation Path into our 5k. Registration will be from 7:30-8:45 at the Recreation Field and we will begin our race at 9:00 on the Beebe Road (transportation provided to race start.)

On the same day we will be holding a community yard sale at the Rec from 9-4!
Tables are $10 for sellers and pre-registration is required! (setup begins at 8:30)
Buyers are welcome from 9-4 for $1/adult, children 12 and under are free. All proceeds are to benefit the Recreation Department and our community activities.

Donations for the Rec's table are currently being accepted.

Pig & Poker

Tomorrow's forecast calls for "Rain early...then remaining cloudy with showers in the afternoon. High 69F. Chance of rain 80%. Rainfall near a half an inch." What a perfect day for an indoor Poker Tournament!!! Our Pig & Poker Tournament with Catamount Poker will be held tomorrow, July 18, at Franklin County Field Days.

Our schedule will be as follows:

Registration 9:00-11:00 a.m.
Pig Roast: 11:00-12:00 p.m.
Game Begins 12:10p.m.
Buyin $100.00 and $10.00 entry fee
No Rebuys,One Add on

All levels of players are welcome, you never know, tomorrow could be your lucky day!

Soccer Registration

Registration for fall Soccer, ages itty bitty - 6th grade, will take place on 7/22 from 5-7 pm at the Rec Building. We are located at 16 Jewett Street, at the ball fields.

Nature Photography

This Saturday, July 12, we will be holding a Nature Photography Course at the Missisquoi Wildlife Refuge. Photographer Kris Jarrett will teach participants the beauty of photographing in nature and the techniques to create incredible pictures with both digital and film cameras.
The course runs from 10-3 and participants are asked to bring their own lunch. The class is $25 for 5 hours of instruction.
Interested individuals are asked to e-mail or call the Rec as soon as possible so that we can get a head count.

New Colors for the Rec!

Next time you stop at the snack bar take a peek in the window and check out the new YELLOW Walls!!! We have been painting the inside of the Rec, as well as touching up the outside. We hope you like it!

Our Next Sweatshirt Order

The popular Swanton Recreation Sweatshirts are going to be ordered again in July! Orders will be due July 17th to the Rec. Order forms may be found at our website, http://swantonrec.org/, on the home page.

Summer Camp

We are still accepting Summer Camp Registration!

Our first camp will be our Nature Camp from July 7-10, 8am-1pm; and our second camp will be our Recreation Camp from July 13-17 from 8am-12pm.

Each camp costs $75 and includes snacks (also lunch for Nature Camp)
